Artist Experience
While I have been creating art since the age of 5, I began to take my work seriously towards the end of grade 8. I began doing figure studies, life drawings, and experimentations with composition and design all throughout my middle school years. I have studied and practiced art under the School of Creative and Performing Arts (SCPA) at Chula Vista High School for 3 years. I have taken several high school art courses that have given me the opportunity to develop a variety of techniques, skills, and styles through different mediums and formats. I am proficient in illustration and painting, as well as experienced in digital design, printmaking, and photography.

Outside of school, I have also been a member of the Teen Advisory Group (TAG) at the San Diego Museum of Contemporary Art (MCASD) for 3 years. Being a part of TAG has expanded my familiarity with contemporary art and its significance in sociopolitical issues. I take part in artist workshops, discussions, and community events several times a month, in which we focus on topics of social justice and their correlation with art. TAG organizes a yearly MCASD exhibition, showcasing teen artwork that investigates a common theme.
